Our Source

The land does the filtering

Rain and snowmelt descend for years through stone, gravel and alluvial earth. We draw the water only after geology has finished its work.

The journey underground

  1. 01

    Collection at elevation

Rain and snowmelt gather in the Northern reaches of Pakistan and begin to percolate downward through fractured rock.

  2. 02

    Slow descent

Over years, the water moves through gravel and fine alluvial earth shaped over millennia. Suspended particles and microbial load are strained out.

  3. 03

    Mineral balance

Calcium, magnesium and bicarbonate are acquired from the host rock, never added. The result is stable and consistent in character.

  4. 04

    Careful abstraction

We draw from the deep aquifer at a controlled rate, then move the water to bottle with minimal handling.

Stewardship

  • We protect the recharge area so the water that enters the ground stays clean.
  • We monitor and cap abstraction so the aquifer is not drawn down faster than it refills.
  • We keep the route from source to bottle short and sealed.

Why we describe the source in general terms

Mountiva names Northern Pakistan and the deep aquifer, but not exact wellheads or recharge coordinates. Publishing exact coordinates would help no one and could put the aquifer at risk. Wholesale partners under agreement receive the full technical dossier, including source water analysis.
